My process is very intuitive, so I never know what a painting will look like on the other side of finished. I begin the process with a feeling and color in mind and then I just start. For this painting I wanted a color palette that felt like a sun bleached garden late in the summer - like the feeling of being frayed at the edges, tired from a long season of heat and activity, but then you notice the light of the day beginning to soften and the figs are starting to ripen on the branches and a sweet taste fills your mouth as you’re reminded of the promise that everything changes.
