Birth of Appalachia Sticker - Sticker measuring 3”x2.5”

Appalachia is a Goddess of unrivaled beauty and bounty. Her skin is creamy like the blooms of a magnolia in the springtime and her hair is golden-orange like butternut squash in autumn. Her eyes are aqua, like a mountain creek in the winter and her cheeks are always flush as if it were summer year-round. She was born and raised by the milk of a cow and is said to always accompany lone calves and fawns bedding down in tall grasses.

She was discovered at night by women in the valley of the mountains sitting next to a lake under the shade of the dogwood trees. Were it not for the glow from the lightning bugs, they would have missed her all together. The two women that discovered her raised her on their farm as their own, and in exchange for their generosity, she taught them how to make yarrow poultices and tinctures with passionflower and mimosa blooms. She is the patron Goddess of artists, musicians, hikers, herbalists, and farmers and serves as a guardian and guide to young children.

The “Birth of Appalachia” was inspired by the famous “Birth of Venus” painting by Italian painter, Sandro Botticelli.
