born from collaboration…
In October of 2022, Steve, the creative genius of Lavelle Manufacturing, invited me to do a live painting on a custom denim jacket in his studio in Abingdon, Virginia.
Steve crafted a cream colored denim workwear jacket and invited the public to his studio to watch the jacket be transformed.
In front of a live audience I got to work and the first jacket was created right before the eyes of the participants the first jacket was created.
It was from that experience, the Lavelle x Marcy Parks Collaboration was born!
I created 3 original abstract paintings that Steve then printed onto recycled fabrics using vegetable dyes.
With those materials, Steve has created 40 pieces of sustainable, wearable art and accessories.
